Rodfei Sholom is an Orthodox synagogue with a membership of over three hundred families who call Rodfei Sholom their spiritual home and Rabbi Aryeh Scheinberg their spiritual leader. Its members are from Reform, Conservative and secular backgrounds as well as Orthodox. Many were born in the United States but others come from around the world, including Israel, Mexico, South Africa, South America, and Europe.

History of Rodfei Sholom

Rodfei Sholom’s membership continued to grow which necessitated a renovation project. In the summer of 2007, the synagogue embarked on a five-million dollar expansion and remodeling project, which was completed in the summer
of 2008.

The new facility  includes a  sanctuary with a fixed seating capacity of five-hundred people; an auditorium that seats five-hundred people; a brand new kitchen and eight classrooms. Additionally, the old sanctuary has become the day chapel, study hall, and library.

Rabbi Michael Sunshine was hired to assist with rabbinical duties.
Under the direction of Rabbi Yaakov Cohen, the Torah Learning Center offers numerous classes and learning opportunites.
Devorah Cohen is the Director of Family Programming and organizes Shabbat dinners, brunches, outings and special events.

On any Shabbat morning of the year, the sanctuary of Rodfei Sholom is filled with men, women and children who have come together to daven and to enjoy the companionship of community. The morning services are followed by a Kiddush Luncheon. There is a very active Junior Congregation and other youth activities are held throughout the day.

Rodfei Sholom is a diverse, caring family united in its love of Judaism and tradition.
